Hello everyone !!

I am getting emails from everyone of you asking me how am I liking it here. First and foremost, I am terribly, miserably, horribly missing you guys. I just wish you all were here. We could have done so many adventures together. And whenever I land up in a disastrous situation, I wish I had a phone so that I could have called u up and share those experiences. You may be wondering, what sought of situations I am talking about. Let me elaborate in this blog.
Most commonly, I am always getting lost. I am staying in a place which is far away from my univ campus. We need to board a bus to get to the univ and the bus stop is some 5 mins walking distance from my home (yippee....i have got a home now :P....though in rent). One day, while coming back from the bus stop, I was unable to find my home. I roamed around the same places for almost 5 mins and then I could locate my home. Since I dont have a cell yet, I feel scared to think what would've happened if I didnt find my home that day. Maybe had to stay in the road. But that is illegal in US I suppose.
Next, I had a horrible time disposing my garbage. From the window of my room, I could see the garbage disposal bins right away. So, on my way to the university, I packed the garbage plastics and took it to the bin. There I saw signs like "STOP. No plastic or garbage bags." "Only recycles". (Here, they recycle papers and cans). Hence, I had to find the garbage bin which can hold all type of items in my whole community. I couldn't find it. Seeing no other options, I took those plastic bags in the recycle bins. Still now, I am feeling worried what will happen if they found I had broke a rule !!!!!!!
Now the most interesting of all. As you all know, I am a bit experienced in cooking. So I decided to cook something for my dinner one day. Then I found there was no knife in the house. I cut onions and tomatoes with a butter knife. And the most amazing thing, I had to cut cabbage with scissors :P It was good. easier and more precise I suppose. I decided on some omlette with all these veggies. I took two eggs. i found the amount of veggies where in excess. I took one more egg. Then heated oil in the pan. poured the beaten eggs with the veggies on it. To make things more complicated, the frying pan was too small. I had to scramble all the mixture. It tasted good.After that, I planned to do some washing/laundry then. I put the clothes in the washer, pour the detergent. I started the washer with some program as the "heavy wash" . After 20 mins, i thought since I have jeans, let me do "super heavy wash". SO the washer, without canceling it's previous assignment, completed the cycle of heavy wash (which is something about 45 mins) and then it started the super heavy wash also. which took another 45 mins. IT TOOK ME 1.5 hrs to wash some 10 clothes !!!!!!!!!!!!! I wondered what you guys would have said me in this situation. We might have had rounds of laughter riots !!!! something similar happened with the drying part too. it took me another 1.5 hrs. so I spend 3 hrs in laundry.
So you see, I am having my piece of time here. Making some disasters. And at the end, loving it. The fact that I am responsible for all the big and the small things makes the whole situation so adventurous.
P.S By the way, today I had a social gathering with all my 1st year grad students in a park. It was supposed to be a picninc. But unfortunately, after driving for some 45 mins (driving was done by debjit, my senior in this dept), we again got lost and couldn't find the place. hehehe...I dont know how long this will go on. But try to save some money and come here. Maybe next year. We'll definitely have some nice time together.
